We had lunch with Jean today, which has become our Friday routine. We went to the Wendy’s near daycare, since I have been in Victor all week at a client site, and it’s hard to get back to the city early. Jean came home with us and we played a while before Ina went up for his nap. He cooperated a little better today, but still only slept about a half an hour. Jean headed home about 3:00 and Ian and I headed out to the museum to meet up with Catherine and Ana. Ian had a great time as usual. We stared out at the art station in the Sesame Street exhibit, when played with the trains. Ana and Catherine went on the train ride with us, which was fun. Then it was on to the Bob exhibit. David had a chance to break away from work for a little while and came and played with us for a while. We also did the “sand box” (which is really silicon beads) and the Post Office, before Ana and Catherine needed to head out. We Stopped for a ride on the carousel, but Ian didn’t enjoy it much this time. I think he was upset that he could see his Daddy as we were going by and didn’t want to be separated from him. We lingered a while in the museum shop and then stopped at Burger King to get dinner on the way home. (Fast food twice in one day - bad Mommy!)David got home shortly after we did and he and Ian played downstairs for a while. Ian has so much fun opening the packages of Star Wars figures. He can also turn David’s CD player on, which is a two step process, where you have to push certain buttons in sequence to make it work. Ian was tired and getting cranky, so we started the bedtime process and he was asleep by quarter to eight.
I talked to my mother and she has decided not to go to Kenny’s for Thanksgiving this year. We both really wanted her to do it, but she is adamant that she doesn’t want him to drive there and back just to get her and then back again. Oh well, what can you do? Jean invited us to Thanksgiving with her, but I have decided to cook again this year and invite Norm and Elizabeth and Lia like we did last year. That way I will have plenty of leftovers that we can take to my mother’s on Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. Now I just have to plan my menu and so my shopping!
