Sunday 11/4

David was up with Ian again last night, but he slept in until 7:30, which was good. We played inside for the morning until it was time to get ready for church. One thing that Ian likes to do now with his blocks is build tunnels. We build it like a garage under the tower and he puts his cars in there. Also now he will often say we’re building a house, rather than it always being a tower. There were a lot of kids in the nursery today since it was a “Family Sunday” (no Sunday School). John G. was there with the kids and would have been alone, so I stayed to help. Everybody colored for a while, and then Ian spent time playing with the dollhouse with Ana. Val was pretty good too, but it helped that his Daddy was there. There was a lunch after church, so we stayed and ate. They had vegetable trays including black olives, which Ian loves. I filled his dish several times. I think he must have eaten a couple dozen. It was really amazing to watch him sucking them down. He also ate some of my soup, sandwich and cookies. We played with Daddy for a while at home before nap time. I was really tired, so I lay down too. I was still sleepy when Ian woke up, so David went up and got him. I thought they had gone downstairs, but it turned out Ian was still sleepy, too and David sat in the chair with Ian asleep on his chest for almost another hour. By the time we all woke up, it was 4:00. It was cool and cloudy, plus being late, so we stayed home and played with blocks and generally messed around. We ate at the normal time, and the guys headed downstairs after more playing with the set of the wooden blocks that David opened. We played some more before bed and also watched Star Wars a bit to calm down. I let Ian stay up a little later, as we are still adjusting to the time change, but that seems fine so far. His nails were getting long, so I clipped them before bed, which is always a struggle. He really hates me to do it. I might have been a little better this time – at least he wasn’t really hysterical. He went to bed pretty easily, so that was good.

Overall, we had a very nice weekend. We didn't really so anything special, mostly played and rested and hung around as a family. Which is OK, too.
