Thursday 11/8
Ian has been sleeping late in the morning these past few days, so that I have to get him up to go to work and daycare. We’ll have to see if we can get him sleep earlier! I left work a little early today to help get the church’s internet connection set up, but ended up picking Ian up at the regular time anyway. He hadn’t eaten much lunch at daycare, so I made us something to eat when we got home. We both had a pretty nice nap and then stayed in for most of the afternoon. One thing that I’ve noticed about how Ian plays with the blocks now is that he will say what it is he wants to build, such as a tunnel or a house, rather than just building “towers” and knocking them down. He will want the house to have a door, or a gate, and likes to park his cars in the garage/tunnels that we make under the mega-block towers. I think that’s neat. We did take a quick stop out to the grocery store to get stuff for our upcoming trip. As usual, Ian didn’t want to go, but enjoyed himself looking at things and eating grapes once we were there. We played with Daddy, both downstairs and upstairs after dinner. Ian was jumping on the bed in the guest room and wanted me to jump, too. I didn’t jump, so he jumped on me instead, banging his hard little head into the side of my eye socket. Ouch! It’s been a bad week for Mommy in terms of getting injured. I gave him a quick bath, so we wouldn’t have to worry about using Heather’s tub and then it was off to bed. As soon as he was settled, I went over to Jean’s so we could do my hair – can’t go visiting people with gray hair!
