Monday 11/12
Ian slept straight through until 8:00 this morning, without even waking up to nurse. Apparently what we need to do to get him to sleep through is to take him on long trips and exhaust him for several days. It was nice to get back to our regular schedule, although Ian’s afternoon nap was kind of short. It was a chilly, rainy, November day, so we went to the library in the afternoon. Ian had fun with the trains and coloring with the markers as usual. He also played with the other toys and the computer. One thing he likes is a set of magnetic figures they have with interchangeable parts. He likes putting them together so they’re right. “Mommy, pants!” he announced happily when he got it organized correctly. We stopped at the store on the way home, since I realized that I didn’t have any food in the house after the long weekend. Ian ate three quarters of an apple while we were walking around. I finally remembered to buy olives for him and he ate a while dish of them while I was making dinner. David came home just as dinner was ready, so we ate downstairs. Ian loves to watch Jonny Quest on Daddy’s computer screen, and play with his figures. He also likes to shoot me with his phaser gun and strafe me with his spaceships. Apparently, Mommy is the perfect target. Tonight he also wanted to put on the Darth Vader helmet, which was just incredibly cute. Next time I really need to get a picture of him doing that. It was bath night and we had some ice cream with Daddy before going to bed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as quiet a night as last night, but he was OK. He woke up and had a hard time settling around 10:00, bit I was able to get him to go back down without having to nurse him.
