Tuesday 11/12

I am still having to wake Ian up at 8:00 to go to work and daycare. I really need to start trying to get him to bed earlier. Especially since I have a project out in Webster for a few days and will need to get out there at a reasonable time. After I got back and picked Ian up, we met Jean at Borders and then went to Panera Bread for lunch. It wasn’t as good as usual, but Ian enjoyed the Greek salad (feta cheese and olives, yum!) and apple as usual. We got home for his nap before 2:00, which was good.

It was a gorgeous day today, sunny and up into the 50’s so we went to the park when he got up. Ian really ran himself into the ground, climbing, sliding, walking all over from the main play area to the one on the other side, and running in the fields with some other kids. He even decided that he had to climb up the center ladder to the high platform on the big playset, which is easily eight feet up. I had to climb up a bit myself to spot him at the end, and a nice father who was there with his son also gave him a boost. Then it was down the big tunnel slide and back up the ladder, at least three times. It was really getting dark by the time I persuaded him that we had to leave. Tonight I had a dinner out with two of my old friends form the Divinity School, Meg and Arlita. We met at the Elmwood Inn and I took Ian with me. He did OK, although the service wasn’t super kid-friendly. I had brought along the small Magna-doodle, which helped keep him occupied while we were waiting. It was nice to get together with the girls, since I hadn’t seen them in a while. We didn’t stay for dessert and got home by 7:00., so Ian got to spend some time with Daddy before it was bedtime.
